What does it cost?+
First 20 sign-ups: free for life. Sign-ups #21 onwards pay £6.99/mo, locked in for 12 months from sign-up. Standard rate after our next major release is £9.99/mo. Young Founders (13–16): £4/mo (a quid a week). 17–18: £5/mo. All prices exclude VAT — no VAT added at checkout while Hamar is below the UK VAT threshold. Do I need to be VAT-registered?+
No. VAT is optional on quotes and invoices — set the rate to 0% if you’re not registered, set it to 20% (or whatever applies) if you are.
Can my clients pay by card?+
Yes — connect Stripe and every invoice gets a payment link. Hamar doesn’t handle the money; Stripe sends it straight to your bank account.
I already have a rate card. Can I import it?+
Yes. Paste it from your spreadsheet or upload a CSV — Hamar reads code, description, quantity, and unit price columns and creates a saved template per row.
Is my data safe?+
Hamar is hosted on Vercel with Supabase Postgres. Your data lives in the EU/UK region, encrypted at rest and in transit. We never sell or share data with third parties.
Can I export my data?+
Yes — quotes, invoices, and clients all have CSV export endpoints. If you ever decide to leave, your data leaves with you.
I’m not in the UK. Can I use it?+
Hamar’s built for UK and Irish sole traders first — VAT, GBP, UK chase tone. Other countries work but some features (Stripe, currency formatting) are tuned for UK use.
